We went on Ylan, it´s brand new, only started a couple weeks ago, and it was the best! The constant view of the montains of Halong Bay was the absolute best! The comfort and luxury were impecable and so was the staff, all so kind and helpfull, specially Joy and Tom. The food was exquisite. The tours on bike and car were amazing and the afternoon with the kayakes was memorable! Highly recomend if you want to discover Halong Bay!
We did the 1-night stay on the Ginger that tours around Cat Ba Island. Opted for Cat Ba since I've read that it is mch less crowded than some of the other island destinations. We saw a few other boats but not too many. The Ginger is a relatively new ship. The accommodations were gorgeous and large -- surpassed our expectations. We had one of the two suites so sitting area, bedroom and large bathroom is a huge circular jet bathtub that looked out onto the water. The staff was great and the food very good. My two daughters and I enjoyed the cooking class. The highlight be far was simply kayaking and swimming -- was just incredibly serene and peaceful. Water was such a spectacular emerald green color, calm and warm. I just floated on my back and took it all in. Great overnight. My feeling is one night is enough. Overall, absolutely worth the visit and glad we chose the Ginger (Cat Ba)!
