We thoroughly enjoyed our day & overnight trip around Halong Bay on board the Valentine. It was an excellent five berth boat - and our meals (lunch, dinner & breakfast) were all fabulous! Our cabin was well equipped with an en suite (shower & bath), and Eric and his team were first class. An experience we would be very happy to repeat!
Staff were excellent, compared and matched, they were treated as like royalty. The boat was beautiful and clean, loved the old style. Very well organized tour, felt like I saw a lot of Halong but also had plenty of time to relax. Food was okay.
Lucas was an outstanding guide on our cruise - great personality, interesting information, we're sure he has a great future ahead in the guiding and wider tourism industry
We did a 2 night 3 day cruise with Indochina sails and it was better than we could expect, our tour guide while there was Jax and he was great, extremely friendly and his service was second to none. The first day on boarding we were given a set menu lunch, the staff were very accommodating to my meat shrimp and dairy free request making separate dishes whenever necessary, next we went to surprise cave and this was good, about 150 stair climb to the mouth inside was very hot but massive and well worth the climb, Jax was very knowledgeable about history and hidden surprises throughout the cave. We got back to the boat and relaxed with cocktails and watched a fruit carving show before a delicious buffet dinner with a separate vego entree made for me. Day 2 was one of the best days I've had in Vietnam, we got up early for Tai chi and breakfast then got on a seperate day boat for the day. Our group was very small with only one other couple and the guides Jax and VY. We went kayaking and went to a special cave and secret beach, we were the first ones there and had the cave and the beach to ourselves while we swam and got plenty of photos, we visited a fishing village and a pearl farm before heading back to the boat to meat up with the other people that had boarded for the 1 night cruise. Jax was very informative about most things this day and filled us in with all we needed to know. VY was also lovely taking plenty of good photos of us. Back on the boat we had heaps of time to relax before a rice paper roll class and another great buffet dinner. Our last day we got up early again for Tai chi and went to ti top island to hike to the top of the 500 steps before another swim at the beach, again we got there again first so has the view to ourselves before the stampede of people we saw on our way back down the stairs. The staff were great and very helpful, special thanks again to Jax for his kind and professional service. I would recommend this cruise to anyone for the price we paid it was well worth the money spent and I would do it again in a heart beat.
